That's not what I meant. I know the actual piercing hurts, what I was asking (or trying to) was does closing your mouth cause additional pain?

I don't think so but I don't know from personal experience. The model has the mouth open in this case to show the bar going all the way through.

Woo late response on my part. Anyway, that's interesting. One would think it might add further discomfort, but that's cool that it doesn't. I may skewer myself for some shock value next time I go to the city.
