Daily Deviation

Given 2016-04-20
Cat and Hornbill with Dragon Tree by Cyril-Helnwein is a stunning double exposure on instant film, making great use of the medium's iconic colour balance and contrasts. ( Suggested by RogueMudblood and Featured by overdebated )

Besides this, I see here a combination of various techniques and concepts you have employed in previous work, like long and multiple exposure, inspiration from fairy tales and praise of the female body. I am very exited to see more of your "Lost Garden" series. Heart

Thank you! Yea, you're right - I used double exposure on a few of these. Long exposure on many too as it was shot in the woods that are relatively dark and the film is only 100iso   :-)

I absolutely love this particular image! Beautiful concept, and with the double exposure adding an ethereal quality, it makes the women look even more like dryads, coming to force a reckoning on those who may have felled the tree. Of course, the one further back might have been the spirit living in this tree, her energy wilted as she dies alongside her forest home.

Seriously beautiful work - thanks so much for sharing it!
