Took a few photos at a point to point race held in front of our place yesterday. There were loads of falls and a couple horse collisions too, but thankfully no jockeys or horses were injured.
Point to point races in Ireland are where young horses compete to get them ready for steeplechases and hunt races. Usually 3 laps around a 1 mile course. The fences are about 4 1/2 feet.
Here is the winner of the first race (there were 6 or 7 in total, with about 8 or 10 horses in each race). Although it's not a great photo, I think it's funny how the horse and owners/trainers are posing for the camera in front of them.
